What does hospice do?

Hospice teams are comprehensive and usually made up of doctors, nurses, social workers, and spiritual advisors. They work together to ensure their patients are comfortable and have the best quality of life possible, as well as support any loved ones and family members. Any other active treatments that aren’t focused on comfort are stopped when a patient elects to join hospice. The hospice team usually visits multiple times a week and is usually available by phone 24/7 to address any needs.
