The feeding tubes that go in the nose are often uncomfortable. Both the feeding tubes that go in the nose and those that are surgically placed have a risk of the liquid nutrition going from the stomach into the lungs and causing breathing difficulties and pneumonia. Patients will also not be able to taste the food since it goes directly to the stomach.
